Welcome to our NEW addition to the Leicestershire Food Links family of Farmers' Markets. Our seventh market will open on Saturday 8th May 2010 between 9.00 am and 1.30pm in the Kibworth Beauchamp HIgh School car park on Smeeton Road. 

FARMERS' MARKET MANAGERS WANTED

 Are you passionate about local food, do you enjoy working outdoors between 7.00 am  - 3.00 pm.
Do you have good people skills, a creative mind and an ability to get things done.

Do you live less than 15 miles from the following locations:

-Leicester (1st Thursday in the month)
-Kibworth Beauchamp (2nd Saturday in the month)
-Blaby (4th Saturday in the month)

Minestrone, Mulligatawny, Scotch Broth or Cock-a-leekie which do you prefer.  Why not find out by holding a Super Soup Lunch on Friday 26th March to support Christian Aid's campaign to end global hunger and injustice

MELTON MOWBRAY COUNTRY FAIR 2010

After the successful return of Melton Mowbray's Country Fair last year, we are eager to start to organise next year's show
and would like to hear from anyone who would like to be involved in 2010 whether as an exhibitor or a volunteer.

The date will be Sunday 27th June 2010.

We have spaces for local entertainers, rural craftworkers (especially demonstrating) handmade crafts, local food producers and local businesses.
We would also like to introduce other attractions which we did not have an opportunity to book last year.
So we would be very interested to hear from local organisations and groups who would like to help us with new ideas.
In particular local heritage societies   -    plant societies   -   youth groups and schools    -   smallholders    -   food producers    -   environmental groups   -   folk groups   -   art groups   -   charities

Also we would like to develop the vintage and veteran vehicles section. Any local owners who would like to join us for the day would be very welcome.

The first British Street Food Awards will recognise the best of the 10,000 mobilers (that includes Farmers Markets)  who sell their wares on our streets. A panel of the biggest figures in British food including Marco Pierre White and Antony Worrall Thompson will compile a shortlist ready for the big cook off – in Ludlow, home of the country’s most prestigious food festival – in the summer of 2010. To find out more
