New Producer? What to do next!

New producer Are you thinking of becoming a new local food producer!

Are you interested in standing on our Farmers' Market

Here's our quick guide!!

We are regularly asked what you have to do to get a stall at our FARMA accredited Farmers Markets. Our best piece of advice is to first read our rules and conditions here carefully to make sure you can fulfill them. They will give you an idea of what we are trying to achieve with local food - You will also find the prices for our stalls at the back. Once you are happy your produce is acceptable why not give us a call for more information or fill in our new producer application here.

LFL currently have over 50 producers members and we are very interested in new stall ideas that will help improve the range of produce on offer - so if you are able to offer a new innovative idea or something a little out of the ordinary there should be a place waiting for you at most of our markets.
In turn we try to offer a good balance of stalls at our markets for both consumers and producers without over duplication. If you are in doubt about whether your new produce is already on our market please contact us… we are more than happy to help.

Here is a list of some of the food and drink we are looking for:-
Ethnic and street foods - Asian, Afro-Caribbean-Mexican sweet and savoury etc
Handmade chocolates
Baked goods - Breads, cheesecakes etc
Vegetable producers - organic and non organic including mushrooms, salads, asian vegetables (all locally grown)
Ready made meals and sauces
Preserves
Wines, beers, cider and liqueurs (Personal licence holders)

LFL are looking for year round stalls as well as seasonal produce so don't be put off if you can only
supply your goods seasonally for three or four months - as long as its local!

We realise that new producers may not need a full sized stall so we can also help
arrange a shared stall with another small producer so that you have the opportunity to test the market with
your produce or recipes without it costing too much. We are also able to give you lots of tips on how to attract
customers and make your stall eyecatching.

For your application you will need to give us details of your
registration with your local Environmental Health Department as a food business,
public liability/products/employers insurance (as applicable) and a Food Hygiene Certificate.
